Ikat (pronounced: e–cot) is an Indonesian word for a technique for dyeing fabrics into patterns. Skilled artisans bind portions of the fabrics so that they "resist" taking the colors. This leaves an interesting pattern or shapes on the fabric. This is a modern version of this classic technique.
